The history of the internet is the history of global communications, the USA government started it when connecting a few computers in a nation-wide network called ARPANET. This initial network had the flexibility needed for surviving the attack of an enemy. Later the University community defined the protocols and languages currently used for millions of devices around the world. Online communication is a kind of communication that starts and ends on the internet. Email is the most common way of online communication, it works the same as the old postal system. podcast and Webcast are one-way online communication methods usually used for learning or news. E-commerce and m-commerce both use the internet with the same purpose: sell goods or services. M-commerce is an evolution of e-commerce and is a very powerful tool for sales.
